Every July, the Fargodome in North Dakota transforms into the undisputed epicenter of the wrestling universe. The USA Wrestling Junior and 16U National Championships, affectionately and simply known as "Fargo" to anyone who has ever laced up a pair of wrestling shoes, is the largest wrestling tournament on the planet.
This summer, near the historic grounds of Normandy, France, something special happened that had nothing to do with the region's storied past and everything to do with its present. Athletes from every corner of the globe assembled for the Normandy Wrestling Camp, bringing with them different languages, wrestling traditions, and different life experiences. Everyone who attended left with a shared bond cultivated through sweat, struggle, and mutual respect.
How many wrestling profiles or social handles have you seen that say something like “7x National Champ,” but when you dive deeper, you find that what the wrestler actually won was seven tournaments from random organizations with the word “Nationals” in the title?
